Does Parker use wood in their stringers?

Parker stringers are made from a marine, grade fir-plywood which is completely encapsulated and hand-rolled in glass. There are many manufacturers that continue to use wood in their construction. There is no substitute for wood in a boat that is placed in the harsh, saltwater environment. Wood offers inherent strength and requires no coring. Wood also provides weight to the boat which enhances the ride and allows the boat to manipulate the waves instead of being manipulated. Wood has been used in boat building for hundreds of years. This is a proven method as long as you use quality materials and take the time to properly install this material will provide many, many years of dependable use.
