In the first stage of final assembly, the hull is prepared to receive the pre-rigged deck. The finished deck is then lifted and set on the hull, much like a cap, and checked for proper fit. Then the deck is thru-bolted to the hull using stainless steel bolts and nuts. This ensures that any flex in the joint will be so minimal that the watertight gasket/caulk seal, made in the last step of installation, will not be broken or violated. A heavy-duty, three-piece extruded nylon rub rail, which is both attractive and functional, is installed with stainless steel fasteners to finish the marriage of the Parker hull to the deck.
