WELCOME TO PARKER BOATS

For one to understand the company philosophy and work ethic at Parker Marine Enterprises without taking a closer look at the Company’s founder and President, Linwood Parker, would be close to impossible. A man who upon closer inspection, exudes old fashion values of honesty, hard work, loyalty and dedication to doing the right thing. These qualities have been translated into each Parker Marine product and are embodied in the time-tested traditional designs and lasting value.

Raised in a small fishing village known as Harkers Island, along the coastal Outer Banks of North Carolina, Linwood’s early childhood was naturally encompassed with the ways of the water. “Working on the water was a way of life here.” It was here, along the demanding coastal waters, commonly referred to as “The Graveyard of the Atlantic”, boats were of necessity, built to be seaworthy, versatile and reliable — it was here where Parker was born.

Early on, Parker learned first-hand the importance of its time-tested lamination schedule, heavy-duty stainless-steel hardware, and reinforced hull. Providing a vessel, not only to get you there and back safely, but with a lifetime of enjoyment and rugged fish-ability.

Parker Timeline

Parker Marine does not aspire to offer only form and function. That is simply where we began our journey. It is beyond that point — and within the experience each adventure offers — that you begin to understand the true Parker difference. The difference, for over half a century, that has allowed Parker Marine to stand as a beacon of Strength, Simplicity, and Seaworthiness.
In the late 1960’s, Parker Marine’s product concentration was based building fine custom wooden yachts, trawlers and assorted excursion craft. These boats ranged from 50 to 80 feet in length. As a commercial fisherman himself, and a known custom builder, Linwood Parker understood first-hand why no-nonsense priorities were so important. This straight forward legacy was passed on and preserved in an expanding line of smaller, 18′ to 25′ boats. It was during this time Linwood made the decision to leave commercial fishing and turn focus on building boats and more time with his family. Parker Marine was then founded in 1972 and formally began its operations.
In 1981, as technology and materials advanced, Parker Marine moved into the fiberglass boat industry with the introduction of the Parker Sou’wester line. The original was a skiff that used an outboard and had a very full bottom, allowing it to carry much more weight. This line of boats was meant for commercial fishing in the shallower sounds and bays.

Soon, other models followed and the product line grew to include Sport Cabin and Walk-around designs.

In 1986, the move was made from a small building along Core Creek, NC to the current facility off of Hwy 101. Just two years after, demand spurred expansion to accommodate the increases in production. By this time, Parker had expanded to markets from the Florida Keys to the mainland and across to San Diego, California. The Parker line crew from a 25 Center Console to include the 18′, 21′ and 23′ Center Consoles.
Growth continued as the 21° deep-v (DV) hull expanded the line for the 21′ and 25′ models. The choice for a modified-V (MV) for inshore waters and (DV) for offshore conditions was now a reality. The introduction of the 21′-25′ Walk-around models along with the 2530 Extended Cabin finished out various models to fulfill the needs of recreational boaters and fisherman.
Refining the Parker product has been at the forefront of priorities for Parker Marine. The 3rd Generation Cabin models have been softened to offer more seating and present-day comforts. The 16° XL hull has joined the line to offer a softer ride for those in the shallow but rougher waters. The walk-around models increased by offering the 2810 Walk-around with its lounging seats, creating a comfortable sanctuary for the family. The introduction of the ALL-NEW 2540 Dual console is another addition to incorporate family and fishing time. Be sure to keep an eye out because there is more offerings on the horizon from Parker.
